Technician Training aim to provide comprehensive, quality training for electricians who want to gain the required knowledge to work safely, in accordance with the relevant industry guidelines and best practice.

Liam: Is Managing Director at Technician Training Ltd. As a JIB/ECS Approved electrician he has gained a lot of experience in the electrical sector, working on a wide variety of different types of electrical installations. He is a self-employed/subcontractor completing work on industrial, private residential, new build and commercial electrical installations.

Being aware of the importance of obtaining relevant qualifications and further skills, it became apparent to Liam that there is a need for a local private training provider in the Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire areas, to support local electricians in the area with their continued professional development.

This is why he decided to set up Technician Training Ltd to offer these services, while providing the flexibility to offer bespoke courses.

He is keen on fitness and is a regular at the gym.

Having been a former student of Marcus and Dave, it was a natural choice for him to select them to work alongside him at Technician Training Ltd.

Marcus: Is a JIB/ECS Approved installation and maintenance electrician and is also registered for Fire, Emergency and Security Systems. He started working with electrical systems in the early 1990's and went on to re-train as an electrician. He worked for a local electrical contracting business before specialising in intruder and fire alarms.

After being asked to teach at a local college part time, he then became a full time lecturer; completing his teaching qualification at Southampton University. He then continued to work at the local college for the past 17 years, finishing as electrical learning manager, still with a substantial teaching role.

He has a particular interest in regulations and their interpretation. He continued his professional training and strongly believes in the importance of Continuing Professional Development. He still likes to get his hands dirty 'on the tools' from time to time. Marcus will be leading the team of trainers.

Marcus regularly receives positive feedback about his teaching, as his student’s achieve their qualifications; particularly benefitting from how Marcus can relate regulations to site practice. Also his ability to explain regulations in a way that is relevant to electricians.

He has a keen interest in pyrotechnics and has travelled with one of the few UK companies that fires internationally. He has worked across Europe and Asia to help fire shows and represented the United Kingdom in international competitions.

Dave: Is a JIB/ECS Approved Installation Electrician. He started working on construction sites after leaving school, working with various trades, then moving into site management. He decided to re train as an electrician and is a former student of Marcus. After several years 'on the tools' he commenced a teaching role at a local college and completed his level 5 teaching qualification. He then progressed from a full time lecturing role to become Electrical Team Leader, then Electrical Learning Manager. Dave still works part time as an installation electrician as well as teaching.

Dave's teaching is also proven to get results, his calm approach to electrical problems helps students learn at a good pace.

He likes spending time with his family and travelling in his VW camper conversion.
