This course is for Electricians, Electrical Engineers and Designers who are conversant with and working to BS:7671 2018 and wish to enhance their skills in this growth market.

All successful delegates will receive an Electric Vehicle Charging EAL Level 3 3929 qualification.


Who is it for?

This course is for Electricians and Designers who wish to further their knowledge and enhance their skillset and competency. It is aimed at businesses and contractors who wish to move into the growth area of Electric Vehicle Charging.

What the course covers

The course is based around the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation 4th Edition. Along with with the requirements of BS:7671 2018 and Electricity Safety Quality Continuity Regulations 2002, design and installation requirements, earthing specifications, covering installations for dwellings, on-street charging, commercial and industrial installations.

Entry Requirements

18th Edition or Inspection and Testing qualifications are not required for entry. However, delegates must be familiar with BS:7671 2018 and the requirements for the Initial Verification, Inspection, Testing and Commissioning of Installations.

All applicants must have a good level of written and spoken English and basic Mathematic skills.

You will need to obtain a copy of the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation 4th Edition, ISBN Number 978-1-83953-180-4, required for exam.

Although not essential it will be useful to bring a copy of BS:7671 2018, however it is not permitted to be used in the exam.

Examination and Assessment

The course is examined externally by EAL and is an online open book exam. An EAL certificate will be awarded on successful completion, recognised by JIB/ECS and the preferred qualification provider of the NICEIC and ELECSA.
