Who is it for?
Electricians who have the required installation skills for Intruder Alarm installation but are often lacking the theoretical ability to carry out the surveying, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Intruder Alarms. This course will help you gain an understanding of Intruder Alarms and enable you to complete further electrical related services.
What the course covers
- The legislative requirements and relevant parts of BS EN 50131 for Intruder Alarm systems in Domestic, Commercial, Industrial and similar premises
- An introduction to the survey/design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Intruder Alarm systems
- Detection and indication methods, fault finding and maintenance
It is taught as a mix of theory and rig based practical/demonstrations.
This course is designed for those who already have an electrical installation/maintenance background and the required hand skills for installation work. All applicants must have a good level of written and spoken English and basic mathematic skills. Minimum age 18 or undertaking a relevant approved apprenticeship.
As you will be gaining knowledge of security systems we require you to be of good standing, we reserve the right to ask for references and identity checks.
Examination & Assessment
You will be examined by short written answer and multiple choice questions. On successful completion you will receive a Technician Training Certificate. This course is taught and assessed in English.
Please note we only certificate successful delegates who pass both theory assessments. We do not provide certificates of attendance. All of our certificates are embossed, employers please check originals.
